Ronald P. "R.P." Lintemuth, age 74 a lifelong resident of Rodney, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at his home. He was born October 16, 1937 in Big Rapids the son of Jonathan W. and Elizabeth J. (Hammond) Lintemuth. R. P. graduated from Barryton Agricultural High School in 1956. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam era. R. P. married Caroline E. Sturdavant in LeRoy in 1965. They made their home on the family farm in Rodney where R. P. farmed his entire life. He also worked at Wolverine World Wide for over 23 years. R. P. was a member of the Fern Grange, Eagles Aerie #2535 of Big Rapids, and the Chippewa - Martiny Township Fire Department; where he was a volunteer for over 20 years and served as the Fire Chief for six years. R. P. also enjoyed many years of playing Euchre with his friends from Barryton. He is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years Caroline Lintemuth of Rodney; two sons, Bill Lintemuth of Big Rapids, Larry (Ann) Lintemuth of Rodney; his mother-in-law, Gearldine Sturdavant of LeRoy; several nieces and nephews and his special friend Queenie the dog. Besides his parents, R. P. was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Lyle Lintemuth in 1994. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with the Pastor Randy Piatt officiating. Interment will follow at the Martiny Township Cemetery in Rodney. The family will greet friends on Monday, September 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions in R. P.'s name may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
