It is with deep sadness and loving hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Roy Harris, age 79, from Morley, MI, who passed away peacefully at his granddaughter’s home, surrounded by loved ones.

Ron was born on June 16, 1947, in Morley, to Milo and Stella Harris (Graves.) He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, sibling, and a friend whose life was filled with kindness, love, loyalty, and cherished memories. Throughout his life, he touched the lives of many through his generous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love and dedication for his family.

Ron graduated from Morley Community Schools in 1965, and served in the Army from 1966-1971, where he was stationed in Alaska for two years and during the Vietnam War. He was always a hard-working man, working at Wolverine World Wide for over 20 years and then later working at Morley Stanwood Community Schools for over 30 years until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father (Milo and Stella Harris); brothers (Orvie Harris, Lee Harris, Clarence Harris); and sisters (Bernice Sorum, Lillian Harris, Rita Stewart). Ron is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Travis and Angela Palmer; his cherished grandchildren, Landry Palmer, Cade Palmer (Morgan), and Ella Palmer; his great grandchild, Korra; his brother (Ralph Harris), and many nieces and nephews.

Ron cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Family was the center of his attention, and his family is finding comfort in the memories that they shared and the love that will never fade. Ron enjoyed making memories with family, tending to his garden, and listening to classic country music.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ron’s life on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home, located at 13985 Northland Dr. Big Rapids, MI. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am – noon, with the funeral at 12:00 pm, and a burial immediately following in Morley.
