Ronald Beemer age 86, of Canadian Lakes, passed away Friday April 23, 2010 after a short illness. He was born January 21, 1924 in Dunns Valley, Ontario Canada to Russell and Mary Elizabeth (Pace) Beemer. He served in the Canadian Army and Air Force. Ronald married the former Dorothy Mae Maxwell on October 7, 1944 in Toronto. They spent most of their married life living in both North Carolina and Michigan. Ronald had lived the past nine years at Canadian Lakes. He was a member of the United Church of Big Rapids. Ronald was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by; 2 daughters, Kathryn (Jerry) Newhouse of Alpena, Karen (Pat) Geiger of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren, Kristyn (Paul) Wills, Kevin Newhouse, P.J. (Amy) Geiger, Lindsay (Kipp) Donlon and Kara Beemer; four great-grandchildren, Nikolas, Ellyana and Jayson Wills and Layla Geiger; two brothers, Arthur (Janet) Beemer of Kingston, Ontario, Harvey (Maureen) Beemer of Winnipeg, Manitoba and many nieces and nephews; especially Norma Jean and Cos Sgambelluri. Besides his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Mae Beemer on July 21, 2008 and a son, Keith Russell Beemer on June 25, 2008. A memorial service will take place 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 26th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Jon Fleming officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
