God saw that Ron was tired and no cure could be found so the angels carried him to paradise. Ron passed away at his home peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Ron was born on March 1, 1940 to the late Steve and Betty (Redman) Baker in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1959. Ron worked at Western Concrete for 44 years. He enjoyed his windmill, clocks, and restoring tractors. Ron drove his tractor over the Mackinac Bridge with the 2-Cylinder Club of Big Rapids. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barb; the three wonderful children they raised, Janice (Greg) Wickstrom, Sandy (Bernie) Fuller, and Randy (Michelle) Baker. They were blessed with seven grandchildren, Austin, Ryan, Aaron, Paige, Rachel (Bryce) Kelley, Jane and Megan. Ron is also survived by his brother, David Baker; sister, Jane (Ronnie) Wirth; and brother-in-law, Duane Anderson. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rickey Baker; brother, Terry Baker; sister, Joan Anderson; and sister-in-law, Nancy Baker. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 at St. Anne Church in Paris with Father Michael Hodges presiding. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids and an hour prior to the service Monday.
