On February 6, 2009 an Angel came to guide my Love to God- May he rest forever in His everlasting love and care. Roger "Jeep" R. Daniels, age 63 passed away after a long illness. He was born April 8, 1945to Merle and LaVaughn (Lambke) Daniels in Lansing. On September 12, 1962 he married Sally Spaulding in Lansing where they made their home and raised their family. He was a journeyman electrician and member of local IBEW 665 of Lansing since 1962. He retired in 2001 due to complications with COPD. Jeep was an avid bluegill fisherman with his wife at his side, he enjoyed hunting and had a deep love for the outdoors. His favorite hobby was carving wood fish. Jeep had a wonderful sense of humor "" even in the most difficult times making life more enjoyable for all who knew him. He will always be remembered for the love he unconditionally gave to his wife and family. Jeep is survived by his adoring wife and best friend of 46 years Sally of Big Rapids, Two sons: Roger A. Daniels of Alma, Randall and Patricia Daniels of Mason, a daughter: Rachelle K. Daniels of Mason, grandchildren; Joshua, Dakotah, Zachary, two brothers; Jack and Yvonne of Rives Junction, Stanley and Carla of Haslett, one sister; Lisa Southerling of Lansing, the in-laws that knew him as a brother; Ellen and Roger Brainard, Robin and Ellen Spaulding, Rebecca McKenzie, David and Betty Spaulding, Susan Stinson, Shirley Tomalia, Charles Spaulding and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with the family greeting friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jeep's name may be made to the Lung Association.
