Roberto Rosales passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Detroit, he was the eighth child of the late Antonia and Jose Rosales and preceded in death by seven siblings and his granddaughter Lindsay.

Survived by his wife, Patricia (of 42 years), daughter Catherine "Cat," and four children from his first marriage: Arthur (Sheryl) Rosales, Cherie (Robert) Follbaum, Cynthia Rosales, and Cory Rosales. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great­ grandchildren.

After retiring from General Motors, Roberto and Patricia relocated to Chippewa Lake, where they actively participated in the Area 5 Special Olympics. He coached poly hockey, bocce, served as a mentor to athletes, and played a pivotal role in the annual Area 5 Polar Plunge as well as other area events. His volunteer endeavors extended beyond Special Olympics. He served as a volunteer driver for RSVP, transporting seniors to their appointments, as well as serving as a volunteer and board member of the Barryton Area Food Pantry. Despite his age, he remained active in recycling, performing errands for others, and also earned the title of "donut man" in the Big Rapids community.

Roberto will be remembered by family for his enthusiasm centered around the cartoon character "Speedy Gonzales" and his unwavering support for the DETROIT LIONS.

Roberto was a kind, loving and loyal person who will be missed by all who have crossed his path. May he rest in peace.

As per his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a future date.
