Robert went to be with the Lord on Easter Day, April 17, 2022. He passed peacefully with family near, at Medi-Lodge in Mt. Pleasant MI. Robert Gene Weiland was born to Wilma Jean (Whipple) Ruzinsky and John Harold Weiland Sr. on November 3, 1955 in Batavia, NY. He grew up with nine siblings in which he was the oldest. Robert graduated in 1976 From Imlay City, MI. Went on to college to pursue computer information systems and accounting and ended up in computer accounting. He spent his life doing maintenance and as he states, "basically jack of all trades, master of none." He became a father to Jennifer in 1980 and spent the rest of his life loving his role as a son, brother, father, an uncle, step-father role to many, and later a grandfather. Robert enjoyed the little things in life that brought others happiness. He spent many years helping and serving his community. Robert is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Rob) Woodbury of Lake; two step-daughters, Josephine (Roy) Thompson of Ypsilanti, and Lisa (Keith) Decaire of St. Charles; one step- son, Jason Crisman of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Mark (Angie) Ruzinsky of Perry, and Steven Ruzinsky of Roseville; four sisters, Jackie Patyk of Clinton Township, Patty (Pete) Bryant of Clinton Township, Debi (Jim) Edwards of Richmond, Pamela (Louis) Stockwell of Warren. Jennifer and Rob blessed Robert with five grandchildren, Chasity Haight of Clare, Ashlie (Nick) Krell of Mt. Pleasant, David Rush of Reed City, Marissa (Christian) Welch of Flushing, and Devin Woodbury of Lake Michigan. Robert had many more kids that knew him as Grandpa Bob, Cynthia Gross, and Marissa blessed him with 8 great-grandchildren, he recently learned about, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was proceeded in death by his parents, his life partner and best friend Dianna Howard, a brother Michael Ruzinsky, and a woman he loved equal to a second mother, Rose Stewart. Graveside services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Flake Cemetery in Barryton. We advise attendees to bring their own lawn chairs and umbrellas to accommodate seating and the weather.
