Robert F. Stephens, age 83, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at his home in Mecosta. He was born August 28, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ray and Irene (Miller) Stephens. Robert moved to Dearborn as a child and graduated from Fordson High School in 1941. He married the former Ruth Hagendorff on May 9, 1953 and together they made their home in Dearborn Heights. Robert began his working career in the auto industry. He went to work at Stu Evans Lincoln Mercury in Southgate where he was the general manager of the auto parts and service departments. Robert retired in 1988 after 46 years of service. He and Ruth have lived in the Mecosta area for over 20 years. Robert was a member of Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Mecosta. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth H. Stephens of Mecosta and was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church, 9047 90th Avenue in Mecosta with Pastor Paul Schneider officiating. The family requests memorials to; Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church of Mecosta, Building Fund, or the Morton Township Library of Mecosta, Endowment Fund or Hospice of Michigan.
