Robert "Bob" J. Schoenlein, age 75 of Barryton, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Clare. He was born June 24, 1936 in Saginaw, the son of John and Myrtle (Miholeizeik) Schoenlein. Bob married Joan Lichtenwald in 1957. Together they raised their family in the Saginaw/Birch Run area before moving to Barryton in 1979. Bob enjoyed fixing old cars, riding his motor cycles, baseball, bowling and traveling. He is survived by 3 daughters, Kim Smith of Texas, Karen Finney of West Branch and Kay (Eric) McNeilly of Barryton; 7 grandchildren Rachel (Steve) Fate, Alan Vincent, Andrew Finney, Jeremy (Holly)Wixon, Joshua Smith, Juanita (Richard) Osborn, Mariah McNeilly; 6 great-grandchildren Kurstyn & Addison Fate, Ionna Vincent, Pasley Finney, Joseph & Nathan Osborn; 5 siblings; many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Joan in 1986, his parents, 2 siblings, and sons-in-law Michael McNeilly and Gary Finney. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8th at the Barryton Church of God with Pastor Gary Bryan officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to Hospice.
