Robert A. "Rob" Reuther, age 59 of Canadian Lakes passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April, 19, 2017. He was born August 3, 1957 in Detroit, the son of Kenneth and Barbara (Crimmins) Reuther. Rob graduated from Plymouth Canton High School in 1975 and attended Ferris State University. He was a skilled and sought after house painter and craftsman. Rob owned and operated Reuther Painting. Rob had a kind heart, was very empathetic and loyal to a fault. He was always drawn to the "bird with a broken wing", whether it was literally a bird or another person who was troubled. It was important for Rob to keep in touch with his friends of years ago. He was not afraid to speak his mind. Rob had a great, if somewhat ribald, sense of humor. He enjoyed animals and the outdoors. Rob is survived by his brother Rick Reuther of Grandville and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, for whom he provided care for many years before his passing, mother and brother Tom. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Kaye Ferguson-Patton officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 24th at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made in Robs name to the charity of the donors choice.
