Obituary

Robert L. Parker Jr., 43, of Howard City, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, after a courageous 14-year battle with cancer. He was born on April 3, 1982, in Big Rapids, the son of Robert Sr. and Mary (Moore) Parker.

On October 17, 2015, he married the love of his life, Desiree Kern, in Stanwood. Bobby personally built the perfect wedding venue, creating a beautiful setting and working tirelessly—through wind and weather—to make their day unforgettable. It was a reflection of his dedication, love, and commitment to those he cherished most.

Bobby worked alongside his father at Parker’s Concrete Construction for over 28 years. Beginning as a young boy and growing into a skilled and hardworking man under his father’s tutelage, he took great pride in his work and in the relationships built through the years in the concrete business. He loved working with his dad and was proud of the life and reputation they built together.

He enjoyed rebuilding John Deere tractors, hunting, and spending time outdoors. Above all else, Bobby loved his family—especially his girls—and was passionate about helping others. His strength, kindness, and devotion will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Desiree Parker; daughters, Myra and Emma; parents, Robert Sr. and Mary Parker; sisters, Carol (Chad) Cornell and Linda (Jason) Knapp; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 7, at 12:00 Noon at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Reynolds Township Cemetery, Howard City. A luncheon will follow.
