Robert A. Landgraf, age 80 of Rodney, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born January 25, 1933 in Colfax Township the son of Gust J. and Sarah E. (Mothersill) Landgraf. Bob was a 1952 graduate of Big Rapids High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army serving during the Korean War. Bob was a lifelong resident of Mecosta County. He spent his life farming and living on the Colfax Township family farm near Rodney. He loved the outdoors, fishing and most of all, his farm. He was a diehard Baltimore Orioles fan and always would say, "the birds must fly" in anticipation of a great game. Bob will always be remembered as a kind and loving man by his many surviving nieces and nephews, as well as his many lifelong friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Russell and Leo Landgraf and three sisters, Myrtle, Evelyn and Frances. Funeral services will take place 11:00 am Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Ed Milam officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Martiny Township Cemetery near Rodney.
