Robert A. Jensen, age 57 of Hersey, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, November 6, 2008 at his home. He was born April 2, 1951 in Royal Oak the son of Holger A. and Mary F. (Bates) Jensen. Bob married Gloria J. Black on April 9, 1983 in Bradenton, Florida. They made their home in Sarasota, Florida for several years and then moved to Detroit where Bob began his Journeyman Carpenter career. He specialized in making auto displays for the Detroit auto shows for nearly six years. In 1994 the family moved to their home near Hersey where Bob became an active member of the community. He served on the Grant Township Board of Review. Bob was very involved in his daughter's life; never missing an event. He especially enjoyed a good outdoor adventure, such as hiking, fishing and camping. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Gloria of Hersey; his beloved daughter, Erin (Aaron) Dembowski of Parchment; a sister, Barbara Jensen of Plymouth; 2 half brothers, William (Karan) Jensen of Troy, and Kenneth (Linda) Jensen of Fairhaven, MA; a half sister, Debrah Jensen of Ferndale and a niece, Deanna Attee of Marquette. Memorial services will take place 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, November 15th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services.
