Robert Stanley Davis, age 86 of Big Rapids, passed away at home on Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was born October 10, 1932 in Battle Creek, the son of Emerson and Jesse Ruth (Stanley) Davis. Bob graduated from Battle Creek High School and entered into the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1953. On June 6, 1953 Bob married Janet Mae Crapo in Battle Creek before moving to Big Rapids. He was employed at Ferris State University where he was an electrician. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and carpentry. He looked forward to spending time with his family, was ready to lend a helping hand and enjoyed singing karaoke. Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet Mae Davis of Big Rapids; two sons, Steve Davis of Climax and Ronald (Charlyn) Davis of Big Rapids; one daughter, Denise (Jim) Whitmire of Vancouver, WA; one sister, Jeanine Jersey of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Charlene Davis. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to the Susan P. Wheatlake Cancer Center or Spectrum Health Hospice.
