Robert Arlyn Brock, age 67 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 23, 2008 at Metron of Big Rapids. He was born June 30, 1940 in Edmore, Mich. to Arlyn and Evelyn (Sewell) Brock. As a young man he started his family in Edmore before moving to Lansing where he worked at Freddy's Donut Shop until they went out of business. He enjoyed working in maintenance for the City of Lansing for ten years before moving to the White Cloud area. On December 11, 1981 he married Peggy Hyrns in White Cloud and they later moved to Traverse City. In 1995 Robert and Peggy moved to their current home on Martiny Lake where he enjoyed camping, riding the mower around the neighborhood, hunting, fishing and making fishing lures. He was outgoing and had a natural gift for being a good handyman and carpenter. He was artistic with acrylic paints, loved vacationing in the UP, had a marvelous model car collection and once owned a small farm. Robert is survived by his wife Peggy of Mecosta, Son: Robert Brock Jr. of Lansing, niece and nephew: Margaret and Dick Allen and their children; Ashley and Samuel. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Rolene Moyer in April of 2007. Memorial donations in Robert's name would be preferred to the Kidney Foundation. A memorial service will take place 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Gary Bryan officiating.
