Richard WD Simko, age 41 of Reed City residing in Barryton, passed away in his home Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was born in Big Rapids on November 6, 1982, the son of Richard T. Simko and Debbie Greenfield. Ricky was a 2001 graduate of Reed City High School. He attended ITT Technical Institute earning his Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. Ricky was currently employed at Ventra Evart as a die setter. He could be found in his spare time out on the water fishing or in the woods hunting. Ricky treasured his family and he was always willing to help. He looked forward to making memories with them, acting as their protector, or spreading his knowledge of lessons and talents he learned in life to them. Ricky will be greatly missed; especially the love he had for his children, nieces, and nephews. Ricky is survived by his three children, Josh, Mari Sue, and Brielle Simko; brother, Matthew Simko; sister, Aulbrea (Fredrick) Lockwood; nieces and nephews, Mark, Pippa, Breana, Keagen, Zimmie, and Fredrick Jr.; grandmother, Carol Greenfield; stepmother, Karen Logan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Rick and Debbie, stepmother Robin, grandpa Bill, Aunt Diana, and Uncle Mark. A Memorial Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Rogers Heights Christian Church, 19938 Park Road, Big Rapids, MI 49307. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday at Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Richards name to the family (c/o Matthew Simko).
