Richard Pointer, age 81 of Morley, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Spectrum Memorial Kelsey Hospital Extended Care Facility in Lakeview after a long battle with extended illnesses. He was the son of Raymond and Alma (Cross) Pointer and loving husband of Marcia J. Pointer. Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marcia; four daughters, Patricia (Perry) Dukes of Big Rapids, Kathie (Denny) Smith of Morley, Beth (Scott) Stringer of Kingsley and Victoria (Jeffrey) White of Lansing; 15 grandchildren, Justin (Monica) Dukes of Canadian Lakes, Zachary and Eli Dukes both of Big Rapids, Lauren (Bryan) Aymor of Morley, McKenzie, Tricia and Dakota Smith all of Morley, Jarrod Stinger of Traverse City, Tyler, Jason, Drayton and Kariyssa Stringer all of Kingsley, Ryan, Kyle and Hailey White all of Lansing; and three great-grandchildren, Dawson, Isabelle and Austin. During Richard's working years he worked for Kelvinator, Rieth-Riley, Building Construction and Ferris State University until his retirement in March of 1996. Richard loved to travel, fish and enjoyed deer hunting. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in all their sports activities and was always happy to have family get-together's. Richard will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His legacy will continue with the kindness he instilled in others. A private family graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
