Obituary

Rich McCall died peacefully in his home July 14, 2016 of cancer surrounded by family. He was 49. Rich was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections as a Corrections Supervisor. He loved hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors because out in the woods is where he felt most at peace. He was funny, caring, protective, sometimes angry, but mostly he was stubborn as hell. He kept his family and friends, well-loved and well fed. He was an incredibly strong person, physically as well as mentally, and he was never afraid of anything. Rich was a fighter and courageously fought cancer for the last 6 months of his life, never complaining and doing everything he could to give back to and stay with his family. His wife considers him the greatest love and adventure of her life. His parents Joseph & Cecelia (Cummings) McCall who precede him in death welcomed and walked him into heaven. Rich is survived by his wife Sally (Graves) McCall, and children Benjamin and Katherine McCall, his brother, Kenneth and wife Randa McCall, his brother-in-law, Scott and wife Laurie Graves, and his sister-in-law, Stephanie and husband Scott Corey. Several nieces and nephews: Amanda (McCall) and Steven Psujek, David McCall, Jessica Wager, Brendan Graves, Delaney Graves, and Jackson David Graves. He also leaves behind several amazingly close friends who we consider family. Memorial Services details to come but donations to American Cancer Society or WISE Womens Shelter of Big Rapids, MI are preferred to flowers.
