Obituary

(Arthur) Richard Krugler, age 75 of Croton, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his home that he loved and helped to build with his own hands. He was born September 13, 1946 in Bangor, MI. Richard graduated from Kentwood High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was proud to serve his country and was assigned to the USS Reeves during most of his service time. He earned a silver star, bronze star and the good conduct metal. Rich was honorably discharged in 1969. Following his discharge Rich returned to Grand Rapids where he began a 32-year career at Steelcase, retiring in 1997. While working at Steelcase, Rich also worked as a cook at Branns Restaurant and a volunteer cook later in life at the Croton Fire barn and the Croton American Legion where he was a member. Rich was thankful to live on Croton Pond and the Little Muskegon River where he could enjoy his true passion fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his son, Anthony Krugler of Newaygo; two sisters, Carol Krugler and Anna (Mike) Mann, both of South Haven; two sisters-in-law, Lois Krugler of Bangor, MI and Carol Krugler of Tyler, TX and many nieces and nephews. Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Dominque Leah Case-Krugler; his parents, Don and Mary (Cavote) Krugler, three brothers, Tom, Paul and Don Krugler, and a special aunt, Bernice Harrington who helped in his upbringing. A Celebration of Life service will take place Tuesday, June 7 @2 PM at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids and remembrance at the Croton American Legion Post 381 also on June 7 @4 PM.
