Richard "Randy" Fry, age 68, died Thursday, May 2, 2024 in Grand Rapids. He was born January 15, 1956 in Three Rivers, the son of Charles and Theresa (DeVivo) Fry. Randy graduated from Reed City High school in 1974. He was a heavy equipment operator for logging and construction for over forty years. Randy loved the physical labor and was a hardworking, blue-collar man. He enjoyed tinkering on many different projects and liked to share his knowledge of equipment with anyone who wanted to learn. The main lesson he taught his kids is to appreciate what you have and take care of what you got. Randy had a passion for all animals but especially loved his cats. In his free time, he enjoyed old westerns and fishing. Randy will be missed by all who love him. He is survived by his children, Richard V. (Nancy) Fry, Liza M. Maddox, Stacey A. (Joel) Cox, Maggie T. Fry, Charity (Ryan) Blake; grandchildren, Leah, Alena, Shawn, Rosemary; mother, Theresa Fry; siblings, Brian (Michelle) Fry, Jon (Valerie) Fry, Doug Fry, Sherri (John) Beam, Trisha (Pete) Marks; and many nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Fry; sister, Sue Snyder; and son, Anthony Merle Owen. Memorial contributions may be made in Randys name to ARC of Mecosta County.
