Richard E. Dean, age 74 of Barryton, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008. He was born March 26, 1934 the son of Maurice and Barbara (Geedey) Dean. Richard was raised in Barryton and graduated from High School in 1952. He attended the Faith United Methodist Church in Barryton with his parents who where devout and active members. As a young man Richard was stricken with a serious illness and he coped with it, the best he could, his entire life. He had resided at the Frost Boys Home near Evart for over 18 years. For the past 13 years, Richard lived at Ranshaw's Adult Foster Care Home near Barryton where he will be remembered as a happy and kind person. He is survived by 2 cousins, John Norman (Connie) Tower and Harold (Val) Tower all of Battle Creek. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Maurice in 1981 and Barbara in 1992. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30th at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor James Breithaupt officiating. There will be visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Flake Cemetery in Barryton. Memorial contributions in Richard's name may be made to Faith United Methodist Church in Barryton.
