Richard Lynn Batchelder, 74, of Rodney, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born on June 10, 1951, in Big Rapids, the son of Herbert and Bertha (Ripley) Batchelder.

Richard was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Sherry, who preceded him in death in 2015. He was employed by the Michigan National Guard for over 20 years until his retirement, and in his younger years, worked for his father's construction company.

He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed living in the country, surrounded by the outdoors he cherished. Richard was proud of the life he built and found great joy in spending time with his grandson, Dylan.

He is survived by his sister, Debra Hill; grandson, Dylan Cook; and sister-in-law, Kathy Batchelder. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sherry; and brother, Herbert Batchelder.
