Reverend Jack O. Misner, age 76 of Big Rapids passed away peacefully at home in his sleep. He was born December 29, 1934 in Grand Rapids to Orville and Ardys (Peasly) Misner. Jack served his country in the U.S. Armed Forces and was honorably discharged. On February 14, 1957 he married Claudia Kreuze in Grand Rapids. Jack was a people person, outgoing and was dedicated to the Lord. He was a Baptist minister for nearly 35 years serving churches in: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia. Jack enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling and picnics. Jack was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Claudia of Big Rapids and two children Jody (John) Allen of Grand Rapids and Jerry Misner of Big Rapids; grandchildren: Kelly Allen and Zackary Allen; great-grandchildren: Angel, Berto Jr. and Sharabelle; two sisters, Marilyn (Richard) Shantz and Ruth Misner; sister-in-law Letha (Roy) Schroeder and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services per his request will be 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Highland View Cemetery in Big Rapids.
