Reginald Lee Gilster, age 71 of Reed City, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021.
He was born February 22, 1950 in Nebraska, the son of Richard A. Sr. and Dorothy (Whiteley) Gilster. Reginald was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. He married the former Thelma Thawley on October 2, 1976 at the Branham Tabernacle in Jeffersonville, IN.
The family moved to Arizona, where their son Samuel was born. Eventually they made their home in Michigan and moved to Reed City in 1987. Reginald had worked for the Harvest Table Restaurant (currently Crankers) and the Holiday Inn, both in Big Rapids.
He is survived by his son, Samuel Gilster of Reed City; a sister, Mary (Steve) Cowdrey of Colorado Springs; two brothers, Richard Allen Gilster Jr. of Las Vegas, Ronald (Dolores) Gilster of Fresno, CA, brother-in-law, Verne Tedder of California and nine nieces and nephews.
Reginald was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma on September 23, 2021 (just 24 hours before) and a sister, Joan Tedder.
Following cremation, Reginald will be interned at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
