Raymond C. Jehnsen, age 70, passed away at the home of his birth on Saturday, August 5, 2006. He was born October 22, 1935 on his family's farm at Jehnsen Lake to William F. and Emma (Simcox) Jehnsen. Ray graduated from Barryton High School in 1955. He married Marda Miller of Sears in 1957 and they made their home on the Jehnsen Lake family farm their entire married life. Ray worked at Ferris State University for 27 years before retiring, but he never quit farming. Even when his health declined, Ray always had an opinion about running the farm. He liked to hunt and fish, he treasured his family and his farm, and he will be forever missed by his entire family including, His loving wife of nearly 50 years, Marda of Jehnsen Lake His three daughters: Karen Jehnsen Makarewicz and Troy Greiner of Cedar Springs Marlene Jehnsen and Brant Nelson of Jehnsen Lake Connie and her husband Dan Campbell of Jehnsen Lake His 6 beloved grandchildren; Dustin, Ernest and Elizabeth Lynch Britney and Hunter Campbell And Daisy Jehnsen A brother; Arthur Jehnsen of Beverton 3 sisters: Donna (Sam) McCaman of Florida Phyllis Beall of Midland Dora (Lawrence) Sonicksen of Battle Creek And many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Renee Jehnsen, and 2 brothers, Earnest and William Jehnsen Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Steve Scott officiating. Burial will be at Martiny Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, August 9th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
