IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randy P.
Cook
December 11, 1960 – July 9, 2021
Randy Paul Cook, 60, of Tucson, Arizona, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 9, 2021. He was born in Perryton, Texas on December 11, 1960 to Jerry Paul and Trula Kay (McGarraugh) Cook and was raised on the family farm. Randy began his career with Texas Instruments in 1987 in Lewisville, Texas. He married the love of his life, Laura Marie "Laurie" Hewlett, on August 27, 1988. Randy and Laurie were transferred to Tucson when Texas Instruments was bought out by Raytheon Missile and Defense, where he was currently working.
He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends as he truly appreciated their company. Randy was intelligent, quiet, kind, and had a gentle soul. He was a nonjudgement, loyal, and dependable friend. Randy was trustworthy and was always there when anyone needed him. He was the friend that would be there to lend a listening ear, have good conversation, or just sit silently with you. Randy never met anyone he wasnt friends with, especially the kids.
He liked to be a host, always making people happy and comfortable. Randy was an excellent grill master and a talented woodworker. He enjoyed learning about history and how things are made, panning for gold, going out to dinner, game nights, and eating Texas sheet cake. Randy was a lifetime member of Gold Prospectors Association of America.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Randy is lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 33 years, Laurie Cook of Tucson, Arizona; two aunts, Dixie Hargues of Perryton, Texas and Deana McGarraugh of Phoenix, Arizona; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Mary Jean Hewlett of Big Rapids, Michigan; brother-in-law, Joe (Polanda) Hewlett of Berryville, Virginia; sister-in-law, Patsy Hewlett of Victoria, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two uncles Leroy Hargues and Warren McGarraugh, and brother-in-law Douglas Hewlett.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Tucson, Arizona and Perryton, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Randys name to National Kidney Foundation of Arizona, 360 E. Coronado Rd. #180, Phoenix, AZ 85004, your local food bank, or the charity of your choice.
