Phyllis Ann Bongard, age 81 of Rodney, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017. She was born February 16, 1935 in Colfax Township the daughter of Daniel and Lena (Somers) Lintemuth. Phyllis graduated from Mecosta High School in 1953. She retired from Wolverine World Wide in Big Rapids. Phyllis was an active member of the Rodney United Methodist Church for many years.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting and was an avid deer hunter. Phyllis especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who loved her dearly.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Charlotte) Bongard of Stanwood; daughter, Cheryl (Mark) Renkie of St. Johns; daughter-in-law, Claire Bongard of Kentwood; two granddaughters, Jennie (Jon) King, Katie (Allen) Jolman; five great-grandchildren; Will, Jack, June, Jeter and Harper; a sister, Kathryn (Gerald) Mondrella of Big Rapids; two nieces; one nephew and special friends, John and Karen Noller and Jon Knopf all of Rodney.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and a son William Bongard.
Private family services will take place in the spring.
Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Phyllis name may do so to either the Rodney United Methodist Church or the Area Agency on Aging.
