Payton H. "Pat" Geasler Jr., age 85 of Barryton, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his home. He was born in Grand Rapids on November 28, 1929 to Payton H. Sr. and Helen (Kummerow) Geasler. Pat honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 2335 of Mecosta where he had served as Post Commander for four years. Before Pat's health declined he looked forward to dancing at the VFW Halls. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling and traveling. Pat collected eagles and liked the singer Dolly Parton. He is survived by five children, Teresa Smith, Roxane Sellers, Scot Geasler, Ramona (Bill) Hancock and Rebecca (Brian) Potter; adopted son, Johnathon Geasler; many grandchildren, and extended family members and their families. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Virginia, Marilyn and Donna. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9th at the funeral home. Pat will be laid to rest at Martiny Township Cemetery in Rodney. Memorial contributions may be made in Pat's name to the Mecosta VFW Post 2335.
