Paulette L. Detering, age 69, formerly of Lansing, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at her home in Barryton. She was born August 8, 1954 in Bristol, TN, the daughter of Paul and Pearl (Hyatt) Tate.
Paulette married Douglas Detering, February of 1972 in Lansing. They raised their family in Lansing before retiring to Barryton in their later years. She worked at Jackson National Life Insurance Company for 15 years. Paulette enjoyed the time she spent outdoors. She loved to tend her flower garden, dragonflies, and camping around Michigan. Paulette was an avid soap opera fan, reader and had a passion for collecting tea cups. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family. She will be missed by all who love her.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Douglas Detering of Barryton; daughter, Cristina (David) Perhne of Eaton Rapids; brothers, Marvin (Jeanette) Tate, Paul Tate; grandchildren, Leslie (Matt) Rangel, Bethaney Perhne, Melanie Perhne, Gracie Perhne; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandy; and nieces, Jessica and Keira. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randy Tate.
Celebration of life will be held 10:00a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Schavey Rd., Dewitt, MI 48820. Officiating, Pastor Debbie Thomas.
