Patricia J. Sloan, age 91 of Paris, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her home. She was born January 31, 1926, in Attica Township, Lapeer County, the daughter of Hugh and Hatie (Brazie) Roney. Education was important to Pat. She gained room and board in the household of a couple that lived in town enabling her to graduate from high school. Upon completion of high school she met and married William Sloan on December 13, 1947. They resided in the Detroit area until retirement in 1977 to Paris, Michigan. Pat was a former school bus driver for the Reed City School District, volunteer for Mecosta County RSVP and Reed City Commission on Aging. Patricia is survived by three children, Dolores (Doug) Redmond of Warren, Dan Sloan of Chase, and Cynthia Sloan of Hudsonville; seven grandchildren and their families, consisting of fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; two sons, Terry and Michael Sloan; and four siblings, Marcella Merz, Harry Roney, Marion Boneman, and Tom Roney. We also wish to thank the nurses of Spectrum Health Butterworth and Hospice for their consideration, kindness and guidance to Patricia and her family at this difficult time.
