Patricia R. Shaffer, age 86 of Big Rapids, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018. She was born February 17, 1932 in Las Vegas, New Mexico the daughter of Howard and Marion (Gobble) Kuhn. Patricia was a graduate of Longview High School in Texas. She moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she worked as a store manager for Ream Steckbeck Paint and Wallpaper Co. for over 20 years. Patricia retired in May of 2000 and moved to Michigan to help care for her new twin granddaughters. Patricia will be remembered for her great sense of humor. She was creative and artistic and enjoyed sewing and bead work. She loved to read and had a passion for horror movies. Patricias spiritual growth and her relationship with God were very important to her. She is survived by her four children, Karen (Sayed) Hashimi of Big Rapids, MI, Fawn (William) Walters of Lafayette, IN, Kim (Cindy) Shaffer of Wichita, KS, Victoria (Steve) Jones, Fort Wayne, IN; eight grandchildren, Zakiah Hashimi and Aminah Hashimi of Big Rapids, MI, Autumn Phillips of Charleston, SC, Nathan Shaffer, Graham Shaffer, Leila Shaffer-Diel all of Wichita, KS, Chris Wilson and Megan Wilson of Fort Wayne, IN and a great-grandchild, Odin Shaffer of Wichita, KS. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Howard Kuhn II. There will be no public services.
