Patricia M. Poland, age 75 of Luther formerly of Sterling Heights, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital. She was born October 26, 1941 in Detroit, the daughter of Irving and Loretta (Buchanan) Sutherland. Patricia raised her four children and was actively involved in Girl Scouts and the PTO. She was employed by Diebold where she worked doing ATM repair until she retired. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, going to the casino, and going out to eat. Family was important to Patricia and she loved spending time with them. She will be greatly missed. Patricia is survived by her four children, Debra (Timothy) Szewczuk of Tustin, John Poland of Center Line, Theresa Vanatta of LeRoy, and Rebecca (Douglas) Orszula of Walker; five grandchildren, Stephen Szewczuk, Brittany and Kara Vanatta, and Kyle and Matthew Orszula; niece, Loretta Melvin, and nephew, James Grucz. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret Hackbarth. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
