Patricia "Pat" Lyons, age 80 of Stanwood, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Friendswood, Texas. She was born January 9, 1930 in Big Rapids the daughter of Fred and Ivah Mae (Graves) Stratton. She married Carl E. Lyons on November 30, 1946. They made their home in Greenville until moving to Stanwood in 1948. Pat had worked for Wolverine World Wide on and off for many years. In 2002 she moved to Friendswood, Texas to make her home. Pat is survived by 3 children; Dick (Karen) Lyons of Mecosta, Kay Lyons of Friendswood, TX, Chuck (Vicky) Lyons of Big Rapids; 7 grandchildren, Chad (Laura) Lyons, Derrick Lyons, Pati (Lupe) Huerta, Kerri (Byron) Boenig, Steve (Kelli) Schuberg, Nick Lyons, Jessica Lyons; 11 great-grandchildren, Alexis Lyons, Samantha Steffes, Marisa Huerta, Marcus Huerta, Sasha Marek, Jaycee Marek, Abbigail Brown, Sydney Brown, Brent DePew, Alyssa Schuberg, Taylor Schuberg; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Corrine Rose; a sister Barb (Fred) Creighton of Six Lakes and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Lyons on April 4, 2001. A memorial service for Pat will take place 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Reverend Adrianne Prentiss officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour to services, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. service time. The family requests memorial contributions in Pat's name made to the "Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department, EMS Division" who assisted Pat on several occasions, treating her with respect, giving her quality care and all without any charge to the family.
