Patricia A. "Pat" Erickson, age 81 of Morley, formerly of Muskegon, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 18, 2011. She was born September 23, 1929 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Dennis and Betty (Mongeau) Ward. Pat was a graduate of Muskegon High School. She married Merwin J. Erickson in 1950. They made their home and raised their family in Muskegon where they were members of the Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. Pat was an avid quilter; she taught quilting through adult education for many years. She was also a devoted volunteer at the Muskegon Rescue Mission. Pat and Merwin moved to Morley after his retirement from G.T.E. Pat volunteered at Morley Elementary school assisting with their reading program. She was a member of the Northland United Methodist Church in Stanwood. Pat is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Merwin J. Erickson of Morley; 4 children, Kim (Sandra) Erickson of Muskegon, Julia (Douglas) Mahn of Holland, Nancy (Mark) Voynovich of Clearwater, FL, Amy (Jeffrey) Johnston of Morley; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dennis (Ruth) Ward of Florida, Sam (Tita) Ward of Muskegon; 3 sisters, Mary (Silvio)McDonald of California, Margaret (Chuck) Felt of Ferry, Susan (Harold) Britton of Virginia and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Erickson and 2 infant sons, Blair and Ward. Pat's family wishes to invite everyone to a time of fellowship that has been set for Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will take place at the Don Rea V.F.W. Post, on 1061 Witham Drive, North Muskegon, MI 49445. Memorial contributions in Pat's name may be made to the Renucci Hospitality House at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
