Patria Mayoral, age 89 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, March 02, 2010. She was born February 23, 1921 in Yauco, Puerto Rico the daughter of Nicholas and Maria (Ramona) Fraticelli. She married Joaquin Mayoral on January 1, 1949 at the Ascension Church in New York City. They moved to Chicago to make their home and lived there for nearly 30 years. Patria was a devoted wife and mother; her family was the center of her life. She loved being a homemaker and will always be remembered as an excellent cook. The family enjoyed camping and while on vacation found beautiful White Cloud, Michigan; Patria and Joaquin have lived there for the past 34 years. She is survived by her loving family whose members include her husband of over 61 years, Joaquin Mayoral of White Cloud; 2 sons, Joaquin III (Marcia ne'e McGuire) Mayoral of Downers Grove, IL, Ramon (Bonita ne'e Barfield) Mayoral of Manton; 8 grandchildren, Clint R. (Lauren ne'e Bramos) Mayoral, Heather Lea (Stephen) Horvath, Rebecca Anne (Isaac) Mitchell , Nicholas Joaquin Mayoral, Anna Alina (Piotr) Borzuta, Donovan Jack Mayoral, Peter Charles Mayoral, Lili Phyllis Mayoral; 4 great-grandchildren, Andrew Micah Horvath, Malachi Joaquin Horvath, Caden Raman Mitchell, Gavin Ezekiel Mitchell; one sister, Blanca Nerida and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Patria was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Lydia Marina Fraticelli, Alba Iris, Carmin Maria, Nicholas Guillerma, Gladys and Maria Louisa. Funeral services will take place 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Robert Benson officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday 2 hours prior to services. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI on Monday March 8th. Memorial contributions in Patria's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
