Patrick G. Loomis, age 68, of Weidman passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in Mt. Pleasant. He was born on August 27, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant to Emmorey Arthur and Jennie (Miller) Loomis. Pat was honorably discharged from the Unites States Army. He retired from Morbark where he had been a welder for numerous years. Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushrooming. He was seldom without his best companion Kody and will be deeply missed by his family and all those he was willing to lend a helping hand to. Pat was dedicated and loving. He is survived by 2 daughters, Angela (fianc John Clark) Loomis of Weidman and Candace (Melissa Morey) Loomis of Ferndale; 5 grandchildren, Micaela "Peachy", Kai, Jovie, Nadia and Taylor; 2 sisters, Beverly (Red) Denslow and Jean Kimball; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Adam; and siblings, Keith, Charlie, Virgil, Tom, Vance Michael, Thelma Leiter and Myrtle Esterline. Cremation has taken place through the care of the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Memorials in Pat's name can be made to the animal rescue H.A.T.S (Box 732, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48804). A celebration of Pat's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Sherman Township Hall (3550 N. Rolland Rd., Weidman).
