Pamela Baker-Schovey, 78, of Barryton, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Pamela was born on July 23, 1942 in Grand Rapids, to Alexander "Walt" and Frances (Wilder) Ziolkowski. Pamela had fond memories of spending time at her parents business, Al & Bobs Sports Shop in Grand Rapids. A graduate of Godwin High School, she went on to Grand Valley State University to finish her Masters Degree in Social Work. Working in the field of substance abuse and recovery within the court system and as a family counselor, she connected with teens, families, and senior citizens. Pamela loved to hunt and be in the woods, and as a young woman she was an avid angler. In recent days, Pamela enjoyed living by the river and sitting outside with a good book.
Pamela is survived by her daughter, Teresa Lynn Mills of Big Rapids; sister Joeal Zyle-Koppers of Grand Rapids; nephew Forrest "Skeeter" Klott of Belding; grandchildren: Miranda Borka of Virginia, and William "Bill" Mills of Traverse City. She is also survived by her long-time companion Art Glazer, and her beloved four-legged friend, Angel.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Patricia Fay Klott.
