Orma I. Gingrich, age 91, of Remus went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 24, 2008 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. She was born December 15, 1916 in Ravenna, Michigan to Frank and Leta (Conklin) Kruger. On June 25, 1938 she married the late Keith Gingrich and they made their home at their present address where they have resided ever since. Orma was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Barryton and enjoyed sewing, reading, her flower garden and playing euchre with friends. Orma is survived by her daughter Nola (Paul) Schlachter of Remus who will remember her mother's strong will and sense of humor. Two grandchildren: Heather (Peter) Hultgren of Woodbury, MN, Christopher Schlachter of Vero Beach, FL. Four great-grandchildren: Marcus, Valerie, Zachary and Patrick, Four brothers and sisters: June Strait, Ila (Jerry) Bromley, Fred Kruger, Frank Kruger and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Orma was preceded in death by her husband Keith in 1995, two sisters Hazel Bentley and Kate Smith and one brother Alvin Kruger. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28th at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton and from 12:00 (Noon) until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church in Barryton with Pastor Jim Breithaupt officiating. A committal service will follow at Sherman City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers it is requested that memorials in Orma's name be given to the Faith United Methodist Church.
