Oradell Ann Lung, age 68 of Chase, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in Grand Rapids. She was born on April 27, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Ray L. and Anna (Strong) Youngs. Oradell worked as a registered nurse when her children were growing up. She resided in Blanchard where she raised her children for several years before moving to Chase in the late 80's. Oradell met the love of her life, Floyd Sanger, and together they owned and operated General Sawmill in Chase, MI until his passing in 2003. Oradell was strong willed and loved her family deeply. She enjoyed fishing and working on a good word search. Oradell found a gentle serenity in draft horses which led her to having her own team. Oradell is survived by: two loving children, William "Bill" Hicks III of Chase and Dell Faye Hicks of Zephyrhills, FL; her beloved mother, Anna Youngs of Frankfort, IN; five grandchildren, Clairessa, Jared, Joseph "Joey" , Frankie and DeAnna; two great-grandchildren, Sara, Aden and a grandson to be; one brother, Lyle Youngs of San Augustine, TX; a sister-in-law, Diane Smith of Frankfort, IN and several nieces, nephews and close friend and caregiver Rick Reed. Oradell was preceded in death by her father Ray, an infant brother Billy Youngs, brother Larry Youngs, one daughter Brenda L. Clinton, her companion of 23 years Floyd Sanger and her husband Larry Lung. Services for Oradell will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Reverend David Jewell officiating. Interment will be at Cherry Valley Cemetery in Chase. The family will greet friends on Monday, Oct. 10th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Oradell's name can be made to the A.S.P.C.A. (animal shelter) or the American Cancer Society.
