Norma Jean Ray, age 82, of Barryton passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born on June 28, 1931 in Sheridan Twp., Calhoun Co., MI to the late Frank and Mernice (Hicks) Anderson. On January 23, 1950 she married the late John Ray in Albion where they made their home before moving to Rodney and then Barryton in 1973 where she has resided ever since. Norma was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Remus. She loved her family and looked forward to spending time with them. Norma is survived by three children: James (Linda) Ray of Barryton, Joseph (Kathy) of Williamston and Johanna (Dan) Hopkins of Remus; one brother, Roger Anderson of Mancelona/Twin Lakes; one sister, Mary Cuatt of Albion and 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Martiny Township Cemetery in Rodney. Memorial donations in Norma's name can be made to the American Cancer Society or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
