Nikole M. Benson, age 52, of Big Rapids passed away peacefully on the night of September 23rd, 2024. She was born in Buchanan on July 28, 1972, the daughter of Dennis and Virginia (Willard) Toll. She attended Fitzgerald High School where she found her love for music, motivating her to travel to Bavaria thru Blue lake fine arts camp in 1988. She graduated in 1990 and continued her education. She was a single mom of five children, she delivered papers for the local pioneer, and was employed at Panera Bread. Nikole volunteered with Special Olympics as a swim coach and she participated in the 300-mile bicycle ride for the Make-A-Wish foundation. She loved riding her bike, going for long walks, swimming (especially in Lake Michigan), and crocheting hats. She attended ResLife Church in Big Rapids. During her resilient battles with cancer, Nikki found her passion for travel- which was fueled by her fascination with turtles. She spent the final years of her life she crossing things off of her bucket list with her best friend Jennifer Hudson and daughter Abigail Gallinger. Whether she was swimming with dolphins or coloring in her coloring book- you could always count on seeing a smile on her face. Nikole was preceded in death by her father Dennis Toll and her grandparents. She is survived by her children: Breanna Benson, Kristian Benson, Tiara/Sef Inosencio, Brandon Miller, and Zachariah Benson; her mother Virginia Lach; and her sisters Misty, Katrina, and Jenna Toll. She leaves behind a wide circle of friends and family who will miss her deeply. Nikkis passion for helping others left a legacy of love and resilience that will continue to inspire her friends and family for years to come. She touched the lives of all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, 12:00 P.M. at Mecosta Township Hall.
