Neva M. Lattimore, age 91 of Rodney, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008. She was born November 27, 1916 in Ionia County to Clarence and Eva (Hayes) Branson. Neva married R. J. Lattimore on March 17, 1933 at the age of 16. Together they owned and operated a farm in Rodney where they raised cattle and chickens. Neva was in charge of the chickens; she work tirelessly gathering and sanding the eggs to be sent to Tice's Hatchery in Barryton. She also worked at Wolverine World Wide in Big Rapids for 10 years. Neva was a long time member of the Chippewa Lake Birthday Club and a member of the Chippewa Lake Community Church. She is survived by her 2 children, Darwin (Carol) Lattimore and Marlene (Bruce) Cummings all of Rodney; 5 Grandchildren, Dennis (Kathy) Lattimore, Dean (Cindy) Lattimore, Andy (Katey) Lattimore, Tamara Holsworth all of Rodney and Darin (Lisa) Cummings of Kalkaska; 12 Great-grandchildren, Katie, Seth, Natalie, Darla, Ty, A. J. and Amber Lattimore, Justin, Nathan and Taylor Cummings and Caleb and Marielle Holsworth. 4 sister-in-laws; Yvonne Branson of New Port Richie, FL, Thelma Watson of Rosebush, Donna Prout of Coldwater Lake and Ila Lattimer of Coleman and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Neva was preceded in death by her husband, R. J. Lattimore in July of 1983, a brother, Floyd "Bud" Branson, and a great-grandson, Evan Lattimore. Funeral services will take place 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Darin Cummings and Pastor Steve Scott officiating. Burial will be at the Martiny Township Cemetery in Rodney. The family will greet friends today (Saturday) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Neva's name may be made to the Chippewa Lake Community Church.
