Nancy I. Lauseng, age 83, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 8, 2023 at her home in Barryton. She was born November 11, 1939 in Belleville, the daughter of Michael and Bernice (Burhardt) Knofski. Nancy was a bus driver for 32 years for Huron Township Public Schools, but her driving didnt stop there. She loved the open road, so she and Don drove their motorcycles all over Michigan and the U.S., and when it started to snow, they switched over to their snowmobiles. She also rode horseback and would ride in the Barryton Parades. Nancys days were filled with spending time outside, whether it be feeding her birds, caring for her alpacas and horses, hunting or gardening. Blessed with a green thumb, Nancy grew flowers, vegetables and even an orchard with produce to spare. Her greatest love of all was spending time with her grandkids and capturing precious memories in the pictures and films she took. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Don of Barryton; daughters, Annette Lauseng of Cheboygan, Terre Lauseng of Barryton; siblings, Michael (Rosemary) Knofski, Fred Knofski, Jim (Marilynn) Knofski, Betty Pierson; daughter-in-law, Nancy Lauseng; grandchildren, Justin Divetta, Krystal Lauseng, Bridget Rutkoske, Amanda Richardson; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and cherished dog, Capone Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, son, Timothy Lauseng; brothers, Pat and Paul Cox. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton, with visitation from 11:00-2:00 p.m. Officiating, Pastor Rob Rounds.
