Nancy Ruth Kassner, born July 22, 1948, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, at the age of 76. Nancy was born in Boston to her parents, Harold Kassner and Anna DiMaggio. She spent her early years in Sylvester, Michigan, before moving to Big Rapids, Michigan, in the 1980s, where she resided for the rest of her life. Nancy dedicated over 50 years of her career to Hope Network, where she worked from 1970 until her retirement in 2023. She was passionate about her work, and her long tenure was a testament to her commitment and caring nature.
A lover of life, Nancy had a deep affection for her cats, especially her beloved Friskee, and she cherished her time spent traveling with friends. She had a knack for luck at casinos and always enjoyed her trips to try her hand at the slots. Nancy also adored Elvis Presley and never missed a chance to celebrate her love for his music. Throughout her life, Nancy never let her health hold her back from enjoying the things she loved. Her resilience and positive spirit were evident to all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her brothers, Richard Kassner of Florida and Paul Kassner of Massachusetts, as well as her dear friends and caretakers, Gloria Weeks, Ginger Folkema, and Lisa Lenahan, who stood by her side and made her final years full of love and comfort. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and her loyal cat, Friskee.
