Nancy M. Hyder, 67, passed away unexpectedly at home in Remus, Thursday, August 25, 2016. She was born on July 13, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant to Albert and Marjory (Diehl) Hyder. She grew up in the Remus area, graduated from Mecosta-Remus High School in 1967 and was employed at McClaren Central Michigan where she was a housekeeper for 38 years before retiring in 2015.

Nancy was a hard and willing worker. She enjoyed fishing, bicycling, walking, and crafts. She volunteered at Woodland Hospice for 35 years and was part of the Red Cross Clown Core.

Nancy is survived by the family she loved spending time with; her mother, Marjory of Remus; two sisters, Cathy VanOrden of Mt. Pleasant and Emily (Ken) Wolfe of Bronson; sister-in-law, Ilene Hyder of Millbrook; and numerous, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will continue to hold the memories they have close to their hearts.

Nancy was preceded in death by her dad Albert; brother, Allen and brother-in-law, Clinton VanOrden.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 27th at New Hope United Methodist Church (7296 9 Mile Rd.) Mecosta, with the family greeting friends one hour prior, 10 AM 11 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Woodland Hospice or New Hope United Methodist Church, where she attended.
