Myron Frank "Mike" Simacek, age 70, of Evart passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in Grand Rapids. He was born on April 4, 1942 in Geneva, NB to Frank and Marie (Laun) Simacek. Mike married Luella K. Hasse in Aurora, NB on August 27, 1976. They moved to Michigan to make their home there in 1994. Mike enjoyed music and going to jamborees. He was an avid fisherman and hunter when he was able and most days could be found watching T.V. Mike loved spending time with children and had many that were close to his heart. He was known as "Grandpa", "Papa" or "Uncle Mikey" to many. Mike is survived by his wife of 35 years Luella of Evart; two children, David Craig of Oketo, KS and Kimberly Ruhge of Smith Center, KS; four grandchildren, Cody and Casey Craig and Nicole and Michael Ruhge; two sisters, Darlene (Marvin) Schroeder of Fairbury, NB and Thelma (Richard) Schellhorn of Gilead, NB and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Mike will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends on Friday, May 18th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be left at the Daggett Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sutton, Nebraska.
