Mr. Montie B. Cherry was born on November 13, 1955 to the late Montie G. Cherry and Eva Welch, he was later adopted at the age of six by his Aunt Helen Rice who raised him. He was preceded in death by a Step-mother Della and two Brothers, Osburn Hinton and Montie Garland Cherry. Montie attended a public school in Detroit and completed his education. He next attended Olive Harvard Community College and was later employed by Ford Motors. Montie enjoyed his life through family, baseball and mentoring to his many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Montie leaves to cherish his memory; a daughter, Juanita and two sons, DeAngelo and Deon; three grandkids, his siblings, Alfred (Pearl) of Big Rapids, Dorothy (Charles) of Chicago, Crecy (Dennard) of Baldwin, Bernadette (Frank) of Muskegon, Robert of Baldwin, Michelle of Big Rapids, Mary of Big Rapids and Ernest of Big Rapids; one surviving uncle, James Russell of Detroit and an Aunt Rosie of Tennessee; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins in which he loved dearly.
