Montgomery P. "Monty" Matteson, age 72 of Canadian Lakes, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his home. He was born April 9, 1943 in Brighton, MI.Monty made his home in Livingston County. Monty and his wife Donna were married for 45 wonderful years. Monty enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, reading, doing suduko and spending time with his family and all of his grandchildren. Monty also enjoyed walking and hiking with his beloved Labrador Retriever Maxine.Monty was a computer analyst for General Motors, EDS and Lockheed Martin. Monty was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired to his home at Canadian Lakes in 2008. Monty was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Mabel (nee Oram) Matteson, brother Milton and sister June (nee Matteson) Hartman. Monty is survived by his beloved wife, Donna (nee` Christensen) Matteson; sons, Jeff (Jamie) Matteson, Brian Matteson; grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Ranger and Raiven ; brothers, Otis (Dee) Matteson, Jim (Norma) Matteson, Ken (Alice) Matteson, Dwight (Joyce) Matteson; brothers-in-law, Harry (Karen) Christensen, Carl Christensen, many nieces and nephews, Church Family, friends, and his beloved dog Maxine. Thank you to everyone who called, came over, sent get-well cards and brought over food during Montys illness. A special Thank You to Jeff and Brian for taking such good care of their mom through this very difficult time; also, Thank You to Pastor Paul Schneider, Harry, Karen, Al and Kelsey Christensen, Maria Johnson, and Pat and Gary Anderson for all their special help and care, day or night, throughout Montys illness, while he was at home in hospice, and after he passed away. Cremation has taken place.
