Mildred H. Stout, age 87, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born January 21, 1919 in Montcalm County the daughter of Edward and Mabel (Egner) Ulrich. Mildred lived her entire life in the Morley area. She graduated from Morley High School in 1936. Mildred married Durward Stout in September of 1953 in Angola, IN. and together they made their home near Morley. During retirement years they enjoyed their southern home in Zephyrhills, Florida where Mildred loved to play shuffle board. Among her other interests, Mildred remained an avid fisherwoman as long as her health allowed. She is survived by her stepchildren; Arnold Stout of Remus Eleanor Erickson and Winifred Rushmore both of Morley Nephew; Gary Blumberg and his wife Sue of Greenville And many other extended family members. Besides her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Durward Stout on November 18, 1975, Step-son Carol Stout, sister; Mila Blumberg and brother-in-law; Laurence Blumberg. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Reverend Dr. DeWayne A. Coxon officiating. Burial will be at Higbee Cemetery near Morley. The family will greet friends today (Tuesday) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Mildred's name may be made to the Altercare of Big Rapids' Activities Fund or Heartland Hospice.
