Mildred "Millie" Korbas, 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2011. She was born September 27, 1924, in Detroit to Clarence and Stella Hooper and had 10 siblings. She married Robert W. Peterson in 1948. Their family included: Charles "Pete", Robert "Bobby", Kenneth "Buz", Steven, Laura, Keith, and Gail. In May of 1974, she married her "Grecian Ern", Anastasios "Ernie" Korbas. They shared their golden years together between Michigan and Zephyrhills, FL. She is survived by her children Steven Peterson, Laura Dean-Bonnell, and Gail (Tom) Kotsko; her daughters-in-law Nancy, Darlene, Daryl (Sandy) Peters, Trudi (Roger) David, and Sarah (Stephen) Retzloff; 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her family at Our Place Cares in Greenville, MI, who were lovingly devoted to her for her last two and a half years. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husbands, 4 sons (Pete, Bobby, Buz, Keith)and 2 son-in-laws, William Dean and Paul Bonnell. There will be a memorial mass at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Parish of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2230 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI. A luncheon will follow at the VFW, 1535 Monroe Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Michigan or the Alzheimer's Association through their websites
